Whenever we travel to new places, (we’ve been to 25 countries and have lost count of the cities by now!) we love to find and plan our trips around local festivals. It’s at festivals that you experience what a place is really about, especially when it’s a food festival. We have not been to enough festivals in Croatia, but plan to go to many this year. Therefore, we’ve combined a list of just a few of the many festivals in Croatia.

Sali Donkey Racing

Donkey Race at Sali | Things to do in Croatia

A three-day event of live music, traditional seafood, sporting events/competitions, lighting of the Port, and the highlight… donkey races! One of the best and most unique things to do in Croatia.

This international car rally competition takes place in Kumrovec. Watch challenging races at four circuit stages.

CroRun

New this year, CroRun was designed to celebrate racing and for people of all ages. Throughout the year, eight different races will occur in eight different Croatian cities. Voga Teleferika

    I sort of was talked in by a girl on my tour group the first time, and she made it look so easy that when I was at a loose end last year I figured it couldn’t be all too difficult, and managed to get myself a bracelet to get in the morning before 😉 hahaha won’t be long til they catch on to things like that, tho’

  9. It would be great to make a post about some traditional events, like Sinjska alka, Dubrovačke ljetne igre, … (I’m not sure if those count as festivals?) I think there is enough material to have 5 posts about summer events 😉
